    Hello,everyone,

Here we have met a problem of KUKA robot's SmartPad.

There is a robot (KR500 R2830 MT with KRC4 KSS 8.6) in our customer's factory and they have used it about 1.5 years.

They said when they have a rest for about 1 hour at noon, there may have an error of "Connect to 172.17.0.1 failed" sometimes and and the list of smartpad will disappear. They have to restart the system to solve it.

We have tired to replace a new smartpad, reload a new image to the KRC, exchange a new KPC, but all of these do not work.

I found this error is related to the remote monitor, but our customer said they have ever never tried this one.

Does you guyes have any experience of this problem?

    Thank you so much :face_blowing_a_kiss:

    sounds like intermittent connection...

and you already replaced smartPad and KPC.

but did you check if KPC is operational during outage?

you can check this by using external monitor or trying to read project using WorkVisual etc.

if KPC is operational, you can rule out power problem (X961).

next thing to try is replacing CCU and/or X19 interface.

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    3) read 1 and 2

This problem has numerous causes. For example, if SmartHMI.exe stops working, it disconnects the KCP connection. If the PC restarts, the connection is disconnected. In case there is an issue on the Ethercat line, the connection is lost. If the PC cannot catch up with the vxwin cycle time, the connection is lost. The easiest method to identify is to take and examine the logs with KRCdiag.

    Hello, Panic,

    Thanks for your reply.

The next step we will do is using external monitor to check if the KPC is running normally when the error occurs. But the problem just occur sometimes, it will take some time.

And CCU and X19 interface is the most likely reason in my opinion because we have replaced smartPAD and KPC. So we will replace it if we have other method.

I'll reply to you if we have any progress.

    Hello, Ozkan,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I know how to do KRCdiag but have no experience to analyse the logs.

So which file needs to be checked? Could you give me some guide?

    Thank you so much.
