One difference is that ED05 runs on Windows XP, not 95, which means you can run KSS5.
I'm not sure if there is any hardware (PC apart) differences as I've only used ED05
-
There were some other differences, though I'm not certain if they occurred exactly at the ed2005, or if the ed2005 went through more than one generation. There was the change from MFC2 to MFC3, IIRC -- the latter version lost its Ethernet port, in favor of one on the motherboard. I'm not entirely certain if the different MFCs could work with the same RDC cards out in the robot or not.

The x11 wiring is different. 2 years i tested the maintenance wiring scheme on krc2 and krc2 ed05 and they were different. Kuka gave me the right scheme for krc2.

KRC2 have Soyo motherboard
Ed05 have Fujitsu Siemens motherboard.KRC2 running with MFC2 ISA board and DSE-IBS 3.2 or C33
Ed05 running with MFC3 PCI Board and DSE-IBS C33KRC2 running with Celeron 733 Mhz Cpu. (Shipping version may different)
Ed05 running with Celeron 1 Ghz Cpu. (Shipping version may different)KRC2 suitable for KSS 3,4,5 versions. (KSS 5.X.X compatible with DSE-IBS C33)
Ed05 only KSS 5.X.X -
I add my question to this old topic.
Is there any difference in KPP/KSP between krc2 and krc2 ed05?
Or is it required to only change KUKA pc and attached optional cards when upgrading from win95 to xp?

Celeron 700 min is best and more ram then load xp no problem

So theoriticaly changing the MFC2 to MFC3 / DSE-IBS 3.2 to c33
adding at least 1gb ram to soyo mobo and changing hdd with one ed05 software
you can convert a vkrc2 to krc2 ed05 ?
Have anyone done a modification like this? Is needed something more ? -
In short yes I have done loads of them with no issues
-
Except changing mfc dse-ibs ram & hdd needs some rewiring as reported in previous post?
Do you know an estimation of cost for mfc3 & dse-ibs c33 ? -
Never had to do any rewiring
You can just add ram and install xp and it will work fine depends what you want to achieve

soyo sy-7vba133k get 3x512mb pc133 sdram registered-eec or unregistrered-non ecc ?
kuka software(kss) that runs in win95 can run in win xp embedded without changing mfc&dse-ibs ?
I mean to run kss 3.x.x or 4.x.x on winxp embedded. -
No if you install windows Xp then will be running V5 + software only
-
Can i install v5 kss in win xp without changing mfc & dse-ibs ?
-
You should be able to will need some extra ram though
-
sure
i have some sdram pc133 modules i think 256mb or 512mb per module.
The procedure is to install winxp embedded and after that kss v5 ?
Can kss v5 work with old krc2 mfc2 & dse-ibs or must replace these cards with newer ? -
We already answered that question
They should.work fine
-
If i get a whole pc from krc2 ed05 and put it into a vkrc2(win95) cabinet will work?
-
