Where to find Configmon.ini in new WorkVisual ? KRC4. WOV.6.0.20

  • Hi

Where to find Configmon.ini in new WorkVisual ? I know how to edit configmon.ini in SmartPad but it would be great to do it in WorkVisual .. I use KRC4 and WOV.6.0.20 now.

I have a feeling that it was possible to find it somewhere with earlier WoV version.

  • Never done that, but in the last commissioning I participated into, I think setting variables in the watch list on WorkVisual while starting a debugging session made them appear in the list of monitoring variables.

You can always check it if you are near the robot.

    Hope this helps.

I can only find it in the archive C/User/ConfigMon.ini...

  • Some KRC4 brings configmon.ini in its WoV projects out of the box, others not, I don't know why. But I suspect it is related with some software options.

Anyway, as Fubini said, if the case is the former, it is possible to pull more files in WoV project editing the ProjectExternalFileList.xml file, that is located somewhere inside User folder.

  • This only works if one puts some effort and configure what additional files are to be transferred when deploying or collecting WoV project.

i do it on all of my projects so that regardless what form of backup comes back to me, i get all files i may want to do check things or troubleshot. One of the main reasons i do this is not ConfigMon.INI but the UserTech files (KFD/KFDX, icons, smartHMI*.config) and perhaps templates.

Setup is simple one you know where to look. Key here is the C:\KRC\User\ProjectExternalFileList.XML

Edit it an get project from KRC with more or less anything you want. Of course one important thing here is to not forget the ProjectExternalFileList.XML itself

Then when you transfer project from KRC to WoV, you will see this:

Of course you can make changes in WoV and deploy to KRC. I usually grab them from KRCDiag then in place as shown in above image add new folder called C, icon will turn into a drive icon. then you can add additional folders and files. Important thing is to use correct version of files for your KSS. And of course filenames and paths must match those on KRC.
