Hello guys! One of my clients has a KUKA STD with KSS 8.3.6 and he changed the password to log on Expert mode, but the man forgot the password. We still have acess to Administrator and the other user groups. Question is, there is a way to change all passwords back to "kuka" using Administrator?

    Thank you!

as Adminstrator You can not change the passwords of others

There are actually a few ways to do it:

1 - make a reinstall of the KSS (all passwords should be set to the kuka default values)

2 - check with kuka customer support to get the instructions on how to do it

3 - ckeck Xpert (for the program needed and how to use it)

You will not find the password using forensic software!

You should handle it care - otherwise your controller will not restart!

depends on type of reinstall but smart things is always to play it safe and make backup(s)

    1) read pinned topic: READ FIRST...

    2) if you have an issue with robot, post question in the correct forum section... do NOT contact me directly

    3) read 1 and 2

    Quote from panic mode

At MINIMUM, make an ARCHIVE ALL backup. Better yet, also make a full KSR system-image backup, just in case.

The good news here is, if you re-install KSS and lose all your programs, you can do a Restore on the Archive without putting the old password(s) back into the robot.

Well, unless things have changed, but the last time I checked, Archives don't store passwords -- those were stored in the Windows Registry. Now, restoring the KSR image will put the old passwords back -- the KSR restore literally wipes the hard drive and puts every bit back to the state when the KSR image was made. So, once you have the robot set up correctly, make a new KSR backup. Otherwise, if you ever need to do a KSR restoration for any reason, you'll end up right back with your current issue.
