You can update from minor revisions, i.e. v7.70p/23 to v7.7p/54.

After v7.40 the procedure changed from the maintenance update to what is now called an auto update. In my opinion the maintenance update procedure is simpler.

Edit: You can not update between major revisions such as v7.xx/pxx to v8.xx/pxx

So the new auto update I assume requires ethernet? And does this give you the options of choosing the minor rev? Or does it choose the most recent rev released for you automatically?

I've always loaded it onto a USB drive then do the update from the file menu. You would download the most recent minor rev.

You create a CRC account with Fanuc on their website, then you can login on the customer portal and download it.

You cant auto update 8.1 to 8.3 with an auto update media. You can only do revs of 8.1. You can however auto update 8.1 to 8.3 if you have a full core load of 8.3

Is the full core load the same as the “reburn” that fanuc mentioned they could send me? And what would that cost around?

A reburn is a full core load. I have no idea what it cost. I'm sure it depends on what options you have. Also, reburns have always been the version the robot shipped with at the latest rev. You could however purchase another version.

Ok so pdl states above that “You can update from minor revisions, i.e. v7.70p/23 to v7.7p/54.“ so there are still revisions within the .7 which is the p/23 updated to p/54 Thats what I was misunderstanding. Thanks for the info
