Hello,
I hope someone already has been dealing with the set up of the tcp for a circular saw. I did a research on the forum but I did not find any topic about it. Here is my problem. I calibrated the TCP of my saw using the centre of the saw. If I measure with the tool setter, the $POS_ACT variable shows the correct TCP/saw distance from the base (which is my milling table) 50.0009mm, 50mm is the zero for the tool setter. This happens when the plane of the saw is parallel to the base.
Then, the saw diameter is 250mm, If I tilt the saw 90° to place it perpendicular to the base/milling table and I measure again the distance of the lower tooth of the saw to the base, when the tool setter is to zero $POS_ACT variable says that TCP is 1.12mm higher then what it should be (126.12 vs expected 125mm). If I tilt the saw back and then again normal to the base but in the opposite direction, the $POS_ACT says the the TCP is 0.68mm higher (125.68 vs expected 125).
I did some test cut. If I cut 2 lines parallel to each others with a distance of 200mm and the saw perpendicular to the base, the distance between the cuts is correctly 200mm but the depth of the cut is approx 1mm more then what expected. If I cut the 2 lines with the saw at 45°, the distance between the lines is not 200mm as expected but 198mm.
I need some help to properly set the tcp with this saw. Any suggestion?
