1. check in what shape everything is and if it works:
- age and appearance,
- wear, signs of damage (leaks etc.)
- included options and software version(s),
- state of pendant
- does it boot cleanly (more than once)
- what are the error messages and do they clear
- does it run (do you have x11 jumper plug to test it)
- is it mastered
- is the MADA correct (are the labels in place and readable)
- does each axis move through full range without issue
- does it make strange noise or vibrations
- operation of safety circuit (e-stops, deadman switches)
- does it have matching set of CDs and drawings
- do all fans work
- how clean it is
- do all drives work (floppy, cd)
- does archiving to USB work (unless you are happy to use floppy, or network)
etc.
2. yes, your local kuka sales guy... btw you need to be much more specific. buying robot is like buying car - there are many models, features, performance ranges, dress packages, number of axis, discounts depending on how many robots you buy, industry etc. are you buying medical robot by any chance?
we are a young company. So we are expecting between 5 to 6 robots a year. Do anyone have a price list of the robots????
For *used* robots? No -- the price will vary wildly depending on many factors. I recently saw a lot of ~50 KRC2s being sold for ~$9000 US each on EBay. But often the price is higher for a working robot. Lower prices often only come from very old or damaged robots, or robots without controllers.
Price also varies with location. Used KUKAbots are easier to come by in Germany, but the shipping cost to North America would be enormous.
Supply also varies -- when a large factory decides to do a plant-wide upgrade, many robots become available for a short time, but in between such events, the supply is more rare. Your best bet is to locate a reputable refurbisher/reseller near your location and build a professional relationship with them.

from my experience, sometimes buying a used robot is like buying a new one but in several payments.
even if the robot is looking great and working, you don't know what the seller done to make it work smoothly and you will face a problem after a month or so.
you can not tell the condition of the robot which diffrent in buying a used car, that you can take it to the garage to check.
as a young company, my advice is to buy a new one, have the warrenty, and after understanding and get more experienced with the issue that can accord, you can buy a used one, but you will know by then , what to look for.
Hi, we do deal with used robots, I do offer guarantee or not guarantee robot we buy big lots then prepare them and sell them individually, often we sell them including the aplication... palletizing, milling, handling etc etc.
For your info I can tell you that the (V)KRC2 KR210 with six months guarantee we re selling them for 13900€, without guarantee they can be around 10K€, all of them in perfect working order runing smooth, these are prices in Europe. We re based in spain http://www.robotsdesegundamano.com. And i can tell you that shipping to the states from europe can be around 1000$.
Hope that helps.
