Fanuc Ethernet/IP Help

    Hi guys,

    I am trying to make a Modbus TCP or Ethernet/IP connection between Fanuc r30iB controller and a PLC, i read many articles and manual and after setting the Remote in System/Config

    I go setup/ Host comm and after that everyone goes to Ethernet/IP in I/O but i do not have such thing.

    How can i activate this option? there is some procedure that i must do? (ex: In manual says that Ethernet adapter must be loaded. I can't find how to load or to check if it is loaded)

    Thank you for answer. I checked and i found only TCP/IP connection. It is not enough for Modbus TCP communication? IF not how can i activate Modbus?

    Also an option that must be purchased.

    Fanuc options are a-la-carte. They will be happy to take your $$$$.

    Are you trying to re-purpose and existing robot, or did you purchase this thing new? If you contact Fanuc with the robots F number they should be able to assist you in purchasing the option(s) you desire.

    I am trying to reuse an existing robot. It makes sense that if the old owner had purchased that Profinet Molex adapter not to purchase Modbus or Ethernet/IP. But, as you said, i am sure i can purchase this extra option form Fanuc. Thank you for help
