Hello, I'm new to this forum and, more generally, to the world of robots. I have a question about the possibility of using a robot for TIG welding operations in small batches. I need to weld tubes with a diameter of 6.25 mm or 8 mm onto a flange. The welding is done head-on with a bead applied to the tube I have small lots (ranging from 30 pieces to 1000 pieces). Would it be possible to automate this process with a robot?

welding is one of the areas of automation where robots are used commonly. so yes, it is possible.

It is more about worktable design, than choosing a robot. If you are able to fix parts to achieve repeatability, then you can easily automatize it. If you need position flexibility, then there are also solutions but it will cost you more.

Yes, I understand. What kind of systems are available when I need flexibility? Additionally, as for robot programming, does it take a lot of time? Another question, are there optical vision systems that monitor how welding is performed?
