The company I work for has installed new Motoman cells and I recently heard I'll be a part of the maintenance team for them. I'm used to working with Fanuc and I'm pretty nervous to dive right into Motoman. From my understanding its essentially the same thing, although some aspects of Motoman might be called something different. The example I was given is position and position registers in Fanuc are called something different for Motoman, but its the exact same thing. Does anyone have any suggestions or maybe experiences to share that will help me when I'm transferred to these new cells?

#1. Don't compare one to the other. It's like speaking a different language, you have to immerse yourself in the working on.
#2. Take a course on Motoman robots. For you, take the maintenance course.

Just like Robodoc mentioned, do not try to compare them.
You learned Fanuc terminology ,now you have to learn Motoman terminology.
Search for Motoman program samples in the forum. Ask questions
You mentioned PR. Motoman has P points, for example
This is how you load a variable with the value 342 and then load the value into a point on both languages
SET D014 342
SETE P012 (3) D014
R[14] = 342
PR[12,3]=R14
