Replace config.dat file

    Hello everyone,
    I'm trying to change some variables on config.dat and I can't replace the file...
    I followed instructions that i read on the forum and another websites about copying the file from the R1\System\ folder to an USB stick, modifying it in my computer and then copy/paste from the USB stick into the folder again, but after confirming that i want to replace the file I get the error:
    File KRC:\R1\System\$config.dat could not be accessed

    I have the S in grey and I haven't selected nor opened the file... what can be wrong?

    BTW: this also happens with the file R1\System\sps.sub

    What system are you working with? and are you logged in as "expert"?
    are you using windows to cope and paste the file? or the kuka hmi?
    Can you open and modify the config.dat file?

    I've tried with expert and administrator mode
    I'm using the kuka hmi to copy/paste the files, I edited the files in sublime text in windows 10 (PC)
    I can open the config.dat file but I'm not able to modify it, it maybe because i need an external keyboard? (btw, usb external keyboard doesn't work)

    Wait, something doesn't make sense here.
    1. Log in as Expert or Admin
    2. Deselect the SPS
    3. Open (NOT Select!) $CONFIG.DAT
    4. Make a change to $CONFIG.DAT (like, just add a blank line)
    5. Close
    6. Hit "Yes" when asked if you want to save the changes
    7. Do any error messages occur at this point, and what are they?
    8. Re-Open $CONFIG.DAT, and see if your previous change is still present

    That's exactly what I do, but I can't edit the file config.dat because I have no keyboard on screen (nor external keyboard that works) so I'm just trying to copy/paste the same file from an USB stick...

    From a previous post, USB keyboard doesn't work, for some reason.

    What port are you connecting the keyboard to?

    What KSS version is this KRC4 running?

    Are you able to connect to the robot using WorkVisual? What happens if you edit $CONFIG.DAT inside WorkVisual and download the project to the robot?
