Check with ABB. Even if it's legal to give away copies of the OS, they won't be very useful without the key disk.

Welcome PaulSola.
Before upgrading from BW3.1 to BW3.2, you need to make sure the hardware is compatible. BW3.2 needs the DSQC361 Main Computer, the DSQC373 Robot Computer, and DSQC369/370 Backplane. Loading BW3.2 with a DSQC363 can corrupt the flash memory. Also, if you load BW3.2 with a DSQC373 Robot Computer, you can't reload BW3.1 because it doesn't completely overwrite the old 3.2 in flash memory and corrupts it.
ABB will usually provide a link to download the BW3.1 or BW3.2 disk pack but you must have the key disk, If you can locate the BW3.1 key disk, it will also work for 3.2. ABB can also create a new key disk for you. It helps if you have a backup so they can determine what options you have.

each robot has own key disk.
but some time you can use from other key disk -
HI all,
I think in ABB side the support is eliminated, but you can buy a new keydisk.
Keydisk is required for any system installation, Includes information about installation, type of control, languages, etc. -
You can retrieve your keystring from a backup using robinstall. Copy your key and program files from the BACKINFO folder, make a new folder in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\ABB Robotics\Controls\V40" with your system name as the new folder. Note, you might put it in v32 or 31, etc., depending on your system pack. Open robinstall and find your system listed on the left, highlight it, select update, then next. Scroll down and you should see your keystring. Also, robinstall might make a new file in your new folder "keystr.txt", which will have your keystring in plain text. Good luck.
