Is this possible, and how?

Then search "krcconfigurator.exe" using wizard search of Windows (I don't remember where's is located )
Then on the section managed archive files type a name of your disk , letter unit f: ,g: etc.
By default appears "archive.zip" I don't know if it's possible rename"Rname _date_time.zip"Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is this possible, and how?generating name is one thing, but that same name will need to be used for restoring. did you ever try restoring archive that was renamed?

Is it so that you can only do a restore of an archive that you have made on the robot where the archive is made and that the name of the archive has to be the same as when taken the archive (not renamed)?

i think so. you can have several copies of the archive on your USB stick, each with different name. if none of names match what is set in KrcConfigurator, restoring will not work.

To append date&time, you can actually set this up under the History tab of KRCConfigurator. It's a bit weird, but I've used it on KRC4s, and I'm told that this part of the KRC is unchanged from KSS 5, so it should work on KRC2s as well. But Panic is correct, the Restore function will be slightly broken.
With the History option activated, the Archive file name will look like this: RobotNameYYYY-MM-DD-HH-mm-SS.zip, where YYYY is the year, MM is the month, DD is the day, HH is the hour (24hr format), mm is the minute, and SS is the seconds of the moment the Archive was created. But the Restore function will be looking for a file simply named RobotName.zip. This is easy enough to fix -- just create copy of the Archive you wish to restore, with the date/time numbers removed, and place it in the directory you want to Restore from, before calling the Restore menu option. It's a bit of extra work, but being able to track back to specific date/time Archives can be really valuable.
One thing: if your default Archive location is on the robot hard drive, over time your Archives will eventually take up all space on the drive. So you may want to do some occasional housecleaning.
