Hi!
I'm having hard time getting an old Fanuc LR Mate 200i and a R-J3 controller (i-cabinet) to work. It had been laying in a warehouse for a long time and the power cord and a couple of circuit boards were detached. I have changed the encoder batteries and done all sorts of tricks while reading a hundred topics on this forum. Now I can at least jog the robot Never could have done it without the help of this forum also because I have not yet worked so much with industrial robots.
The questions I have:
1. I want to write programs for the robot with my PC (Windows 7). I have managed to get a FTP connection working. I also have a PCMCIA memory card (I don't have a PC adapter yet) if needed.
I use the command prompt for file transferring. I'm able to transfer all files from the controller to my PC but can transfer only .TP files (which I have first copied from the controller for testing purposes) from my PC to the controller. So uploading .LS files doesn't work (I get "550 File sequence error").
I have read that I would need an ASCII Upload option to be able to transfer ASCII files (.LS) to the controller so it would translate them to binary files. Another option would be to use RoboGuide to translate them. Am I correct? Is there any other option to write programs with PC and send them to the controller so that it could load and use them? What if I buy a PCMCIA adapter? Is it possible to put ASCII files to the memory card on PC and load them to the controller so that it translates the files to binary?
2. I understand that there are two languages, TP and Karel. I have both language's Notepad++ UDL files. I'm thinking I should try TP first but does the way of transferring the program files betweed the PC and the controller differ from the way with TP files (or does the translation method differ)?
3. I have two alarm problems. First one is alarm "SRVO-105 Door open or E.Stop". It isn't there when I boot the controller but appears when I press and let go the deadman switch for the first time. After that when I wan't to jog I have to press the deadman switch and then the reset button to get the servos up again. I have tested the door switch in the power cabinet and it should work. I have also jumpered the emergency ports in the other cabinet's panel board. What could be the reason for the alarm?
Second alarm is "SRVO-230 Chain 1 (+24V) abnormal". I think it appears randomly and goes away when I go to Menu->System->Config and set "Reset CHAIN FAILURE detection" from FALSE to TRUE for a short time. Then the alarm might or might not come back. Any idea how could I resolve this? Could it be connected to the previous error?
This is kind of urgent so all help is greatly apprechiated!
