Hey guys, need some info - where one can buy KRC2 SMB2 module for 7th axis. Is it necessary for fully functional rotary 7th axis? It is only one external axis to be used and i am not sure if i need this module to have 5 axis simultaneous milling? The servo i have is a standard one - for axis A1...
Anyone?

SBM is using for external brake control. If you are planning to use standart KUKA motor you don't need SBM, you can connect brake connection to KPS600 X12.
-
Thank you, that helps

Remember that all of the brakes will operate simultaneously. If you need individual control on the 7th axis brake then you need the SMB, if not as above

X12 has two brake channels, first one is used for robot and second one is free (normally not wired). therefore it can be used or E1 - also in async mode (because it is a different channel from one used by robot).

X12? Doesn't ring a bell and I can't find any reference to it in any documentation I've looked at.
Confused?

X12 (on KRC2) is a connector at the bottom of KPS600.

Managed to search some other docs and found "X12 - Brakes A1 to A8"
Strange as when we had new KRC2's (which all had 7 axis) Kuka supplied a SMB which I had to link out.

Why not to sell it to you even if you won't need it...
