Got some new KR60s going in, but can't get them to move. Project is fine, no errors showing, robots are mastered(this was done at factory). When I pull enabler, the axes light up, when I press jog the servos come on, and then immediately motor overtorque and brakes on. The are still in the transport position, not that that has anything to do with it. I have never run into any issues with my other KRC4s, but wondering if 8.3 has some other setting(I am quite sure it doesn't , I use 8.2). I checked there are no workspaces or anything set(this would give different error). Its seems like the brakes aren't releasing to me.

    Thoughts?

Is the safely configuration ok? I've seen similar when there is an error due to a mada change etc

do you hear brakes clicking when using enabler?
what are the numbers of displayed messages?

There were no displayed msgs except motor overtorque. Yes the brakes were clicking. The cause has been determined however. Lets just say you can't idiot proof everything ;).

Never heard of the saying: "Whenever you make something idiot proof, along comes another idiot." :uglyhammer2:

Every problem has a solution, that isn't the problem. The problem is the solution.

I use the saying on a regular basis. I want to hear this particular story from Mr McGee.

With this teasing you really have to tell us what happened! :icon_wink:

I once managed to pull off the motorcable for A2 while programming, because of some maintenance guys who had loosened a metal plate and cable clamps inside the carousel without tightening back.
The cables of course got stuck around plate and the rest is history.

I hope this problem that you have didn't cause any damge and it would be interesting to hear more about it

two robots, rapidly installed in one cell. encoder cables crossed between them! Repeatedly checking that pins were good, etc. but not checking that controller A motor and encoder both go to robot A!

    Heh. I've done that.
Once had an 11-axis KUKAbot, which requires two RDC cards. But only the first RDC keeps the data for robot serial #, mastering, etc. So when someone swapped the cable ends, it looked like a a blown RDC or damaged DSE-RDC cable.
Another fun one is when someone swaps around motor/resolver cables on the same robot. This usually happens to me without anyone telling me that any changes were made, which results in a robot that ran perfectly when I left it on Monday night being completely inoperative on Tuesday morning ( :waffen100: night shift :hammer1::mad:)
