your recovery stick is not really a recovery stick. it is not bootable.
-
The KRC4 control cabinet is in normal use, version 3.0.2, and it can be confirmed that the USB drive is good

all right then, so the stick is good. did you check the usb recovery stick manual for requirements? copy fo the manual should be on the stick itself.
your KRC2 many not be able to boot from it. if i recall requirements include that bios is above certain version, usb support is enabled etc. also krc2 must have at least 512kb RAM

What I can confirm now is: BIOS V4.06 R1.05-08.1688.01. RAM 512MB, as for whether USB booting is supported, I cannot determine. How should I determine?

Here are the hints from the manual, USB has to have legacy support enabled in the BIOS.
-
BIOS V4.06 R1.05-08.1688.01 supports USB (KR C2 edo5)

I don't know where the problem is? Is this related to booting a USB drive

what is the version of your USB Revery Stick?
I have used v1.x and 2.x on KRC2 without issues. don't think i had chance to use newer ones.
