Hello. I'm working with a MultiMove IRB 4400 robot that has repeated axis 3 motion supervision faults at a specific pounce position. There is no apparent collision, as the robot is free of any obstacles during this move. The robot moves from v2500 to v50, so I tried reducing the speed on the pounce move to create a smoother transition. This worked for a while, but the fault returned. For now I have adjusted the supervision sensitivity.

Does anyone have any pointers on where I can look next? Could this be a hardware issue? The dress hose was torn in two places, so I wonder if whatever is causing the tears is creating enough tension to trip the alarm...

Is it moving to or from the pounce position when it faults?

You stated velocity but not zone size of positions.

Best to post instruction lines before, at, after fault.

Many times in my experience this can be traced back to tooling/dress issues. I would address those first.

Mechanically an IRB4400 axis 3 is pretty robust. Check the oil level - more than once I've seen axis 2 or 3 motor changed and the oil not refilled. Axis 3 motor may an issue if all else checks good.

Are the armloads and payloads properly defined?

    Code
3 weeks ago, I had the same problem, it was a smaller 140 robot, for me the problem came from a bearing in the motor on axis 3.
I put a screwdriver on the box where the engine is and I listened exactly as doctors do with a stethoscope, and I listened.
If you hear strange noises, you have found the problem.
If you come to the conclusion that there is a problem, write on topic, let me explain how it changes (ABB doesn't repair it, they give you a new engine), if you're lucky and it's in the back, it's easier, if it's in the front, you need a mechanic good, the wheel for the belt is hot packed
