Hardware is only one half. You also need an operating system that supports Profinet. You must buy a new system key to install Profinet software on your robot.
There exist different Profinet options you need the matching one for your card.
Thank You hermann for replying. I'm using robotStudio 6.08. should i use newer version or must have additive or accessories or plugin. please help me find find best solution in detail.
You need to buy the Profinet option from ABB for your specific robot system. Then you can create a new operating system with robotstudio and transfer it to the robot. Can't say which version you need. Depends on the exact system you have, and you didn't mention that. Irc5 is not enough, there exist many different versions, hardware and software.
Good Morning Hermann,
Following are some data of our robots. If i need to some specific data please help me.
Type: IRC5 M2004
Voltage: 3x400V
Date of manufacturing : 2019
Main Computer board type: DSQC 639
RobotWare Version: RW5.14_02.01.2039

Let us check if you have the profinet option already. There is a text file, backinfo, which can be found in a backup in the backinfo folder. Post it please.

As you should be able to see from those files, one has profinet option, the other does not. If you are trying profinet card in the robot which does not have the option, it will not work. You must contact your local ABB office to purchase the option. They will generate a new keystring for you to create the system with the profinet option.
Thaks for replying,
I have to refer to my first question about the robot that already has profinet option.
"I want to connect IRC5 to SIEMENS S71200 Under PROFINE. I've inserted DSQC688 in robot computer. But only Profinet_FA1 appears in IO_System and nothing more happens to set the parameters.
What shall i do?"
I uploaded the manual here:
Thanks for sending useful Doc.
My problem is in IO part of Configuration there is nothing about "industrial Network" or "Device Net".
Should I modify EIO.cfg and SIO.cfg? if yes how can I find better file to download.
RobotWare Version is: RW5.14_02.01.2039.
Please response my request,
How can I find guidelines or original files of EIO and SIO?
Create an IO unit that uses that profinet device. You may use robotstudio to connect and configure the IO. Assign an IP address and have the PLC configured to have the robot as a device. Map some IO signals and test them out.
