    Hello again,

    Krc2, Kss 5.6.12.

I would ask, is it possible to install bootable SSD trough the existing sata port on the motherboard? (refer to the picture below, please).

The backup image of HDD was restored to the SSD which was later connected to one of the existing sata ports on the motherboard.

So far the message "Operative system not found" was present!

    Thanks.

Changed the title of the thread from “Krc2-Installation of SSD hard drive through sata port” to “Krc2-SSD installation through the existing sata port”.

I do not think that kuka enabled sata within their bios setup.

You can check that by reading the bios settings (these are kuka settings)

According to your second picture I would assume NO

    Use an IDE SATA converter.

    this one:

    https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-D…r/dp/B00EOJNGC2

    or something similar...

I have been using the robot with such an converter for two years.

Does the IDE SATA converter slows the Ssd write/read speed?

Only Sata port should alow the Ssd high write/read speeds, isn't ?

According the present D1688 motherboard, up to 2 Sata drives is supposed to be connected !

I would try clean HDD copy/clone to the SSD, I was used image restore previosely that may be a different.

Check BIOS setup possibilities... Try to enable SATA support in BIOS setup. Restart PC. Open BIOS again and check if the SATA hard disk is recognized. Set BIOS to start OS from this HDD. DONT CHANGE other settings, as these settings are because of KUKA.

    BTW:

    - this main board is D1688-K32 (check picture of post #1)

    - default values set by KUKA and not from FSC are used!

I doubt it matters, except possibly during reboot. The hard drive speed is not a bottleneck for the robot's operations.

You are right. I just successfully boot from the Ssd trough Sata to Ide adapter and there are only 10-20% improvement of the drive speed. Not big changes.
