Hi guys, I hope you are fine!

I have KRC4 Controller with KSS 8.2.25 and a KR16L8 arc HW. I tested so many KPCs from custumers in our robot, and when I ruterned my original KPC to controller it showed me some stranges messages that I had never seen in KRC4.

    KSS00364 - Unknown operation mode.
KSS01362 - STOP for exchange operation mode.
KSS15058 - Control unit is in safe state for fail.

I check and recheck the safe componentes connected like SIB, CCU and RDC, but the problem remains.

I tried to restore the HD image but it is not the problem.

After I put other KPC the problem stoped to happen.

Does someone knows what is causing problem?

    Thankyou!!

"Unknown Operation Mode" usually means that there is no power to the portion of the safety circuit that goes through the mode select key switch on the pendant. If the problem occurs with one KPC, but not others, then something is wrong with the 27VDC supply section of the KPC, or with the way it was connected.

I doubt that any software changes can have any effect on this issue. It is probably pure hardware.

is it KPC or KCP that was the problem?
    KPC = Kuka PC
KCP = Kuka Control Panel (Teach pendant)

I was talking about KUKA PERSONAL COMPUTER @PanicMode.

Thankyou for your answare @SkyFire, I will change KPC Power Supply to test and check the wires/connectors.

i doubt it is power to KPC, or you would not see any messages.

in older architectures (before KRC4 and before smartPad), mode selection switch was powered as SkueFire described.
in KRC4 however, there is no mode selection switch. Mode selection is done with press on on-screen button. Switch merely displays that screen.

i would check connections are correct (USB, KCB, KSB) and WoV project matches hardware.
since you have other KPC there, you can try swapping HDDs to see if problem moves with HDD.

Argh.... :wallbash: Yes, Panic's right. The "no power to keyswitch" thing is a KRC2 issue. And I was seeing KPC and thinking KPP (Kuka Power Pack).

Hm... come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen "Unknown Operation Mode" on a KRC4.

Panic is right about the hard drives, though -- each KPC has a hard drive (well, a SATA SSD, usually) inside it. When you swap KPCs in and out of the KRC4, what are you doing with the hard drives? I'm guessing the hard drives are staying with their respective KPCs?

Might be worth unplugging the SmartPad/KCP, and try connecting via Virtual Remote Pendant, see if you can get a valid operating mode that way. The System Message manual only says "exchange KPC" for the "Unknown Operating Mode" message.
