We are running KRC4's at our plant and I have one that is losing the mastering on the same axis (A3) continuously while running. This causes the entire line to stop and I have to re master that A3 axis. Any ideas what could be happening?

do you get any other warnings besides the loss of mastering? is it happening on a specific moment i a motion or does it seem ramdomly. on what type of robot is it happening?

The first thing that comes to mind is to unplug the resolver cable from the A3 motor and carefully check all the pins on that socket. Most of the other potential culprits would normally affect multiple axes at once, not just one.

collision... cable fault... grounding issue ... external noise (tool etc) ... motor ... RDC ... integrator who installed it ... user that notices issue but does not collect KRCDiag and send it to (free) KUKA hotline

Thank you all for ideas. Unplugged resolver cable from A3 and plugged back in ensuring that it was in and in good. Cell has ran great with no issues with the axis.

it could be explained if resolver connector was not properly tightened, thank you for reporting that it works now.
