Hey Guys,
Searched the forums and read the topics on this fault but just wanted to see if anyone has encountered this problem as well. The plant I work at has an old M-410ia robot that places Coolift style pallets onto Carrier boards. The robot runs fine so long as it isn't cold. When the temperature drops below 25-30 degrees, it will have consistent Brake Abnormal faults. As soon as the robot warms up though, the faults will go away, unfortunately the teach pendant doesn't list any specific axis that this fault is occurring on.
My manager contacted Fanuc to see if they had any insight into the issue or any potential remedy, they just said it was a "normal issue" caused by humidity or condensation in the joints. We have just been fighting through it, trying to get the robot warm enough to run and having someone place pallets by hand until it does. Does any one here have any thoughts on this issue? Like I said, this issue is non-existent as soon as the temperatures raise above freezing, so it makes everyone here scratch their heads a bit. I wouldn't think that the fault would be weather related, but I don't have a lot of experience digging really deep into the robot for troubleshooting. I greatly appreciate any insight or advice that you guys have. Thanks
