So FANUC users will know about DCS (Dual Circuit Safety) wondering if any of the competition has a similar application.

Hi ! Are you referring to dual safety circuits that must open & close together within a specific period of monitored time.
If so this is "standard" on all European Spec. ( CE) Machines , weather robots or any other machine ,ie, light curtain guarded brake press , etc. the list goes on.
It has now been adopted as many international countries standard. Not sure if ansi etc. now adopt it ?
I'm sure forum members can enlighten further. -
Yaskawa has FSU (Functional Safety Unit) as an option on their newer controllers. FSU for DX200 is very similar to DCS, many customers have told me.

Not sure about ANSI or OSHA, but everything I've worked on in North America or Europe over the past decade has had nothing but dual-channel safety. I'm not certain you can even buy safety-rated components anymore that aren't dual-channel everywhere.
I've heard stories about older/cheaper hardware being used for machinery intended for use (or re-use) in places like Mexico, India, China, where the safety standards are either less stringent, or less stringently enforced, but I've never encountered one personally.

Thanks for your ideas..

And ABB has SafeMove. Can be a pain to work with, not as well designed as Fanuc's DCS, but it satisifes safety requirements.
