Hello,
I am more used to ABB and Staubli Robots and I am wondering if I could move a Fanuc robot in manual mode without using the shift key.
On other robots, we only need the deadman and the manual mode to run a program or to teach a point.
If someone could give me the trick it would be great
Deadman without shift key

Not possible as far as I know. They want a dedicated hand for safety while jogging.
-
I know it's possible, I saw it in an automotive plant.
But the guy who did it was gone
It's not used on other robots so why should we suffer it on Fanuc's ? -
The shift key may be operated by the same hand as the deadman switch, so what makes you suffer?
Much more inconvenience imo is the need to manipulate both the TP selector and the panel keyswitch, to switch between auto and jogging. -
I wish I could bypass the deadman, my hand is in a permanent claw

YEs it possible. How are your KAREL skills? I set up a robot to be jogged from an HMI. I did it using KAREL.

I would love too but its not up to me. Its not owned by me i just wrote it. it was written for a 4 axis robot using an extended axis so it probably wouldnt work for you. How good are you with KAREL?
-
I would happily give you the PC file. LOL

Could I get that too?

Hi guys,
has anyone figured this out?
I tried to come around this. Thought I might be able to simulate the TPIN (teachpendant input) with Karel.(when unshifted xyz... = shifted xyz...)
But it seams that you can not simulate a TPIN. Also, I haven't found anything related to shifted jog in KAREL.Do you have any ideas?
-
Looks like option J379 does the job. Its description in roboguide is "no shift jog".
-
Yeah, that was the answer I received. But it spiked my curiosity to make it myself.
Also, Karel is free
Thanks for the answer though.
-
Hasn't been free since the RJ3iB days. Karel is a $500 option normally.
-
As just informed by customer service in Germany there is no paid option for Karel, it's free, or always included, but it doesn't appear on order list.
May be in other regions this is different.
