I have a Kuka robot with KRC2 controller from 2003 updated in nov. 2006, with a new serial no., and a new mainboard, that means new KRC2 could be ed 2005?
Software version is KSS 5.2.19 XP.
Robot fabr year is 2006.

Usually more than just a motherboard is different between an ed2005 controller and the earlier KRC2 versions. Was it just the motherboard, or the entire PC rack unit?

I think only the mainboard. There is a new label from Kuka with new serial number on mainboard but inside is still old label from 2003 with another serial, old one.
On new label are specified two memories 128 MB, that means 256 MB totally and not being 512 as in case of KRC2 ed 2005 probably is still KRC2 simple. Am I right?
Attached are both labels from controller. -
Hard to say, but my guess would be that it's still a pre-ed2005 system. Although the check mark on the "Interbus PCI" selection makes me wonder... Pre-ed2005 kRC2s had mostly ISA slots in the motherboard, if I recall correctly -- things got a bit weird during the entire ISA/PCI transition. If the MFC card is in a PCI slot, then it's probably an ed2005.

Controller is not ed2005. Maybe motherboard replaced. If motherboard Fujitsu Siemens and MFC is a PCI slot (MFC3), only motherboard is a ed2005.

And except double RAM memory there are signifigant differences?

its not possible to fit an endition 05 on a pre 05 krc 2
