my understanding is that most differences are under the hood, not noticeable. for example 8.3 runs on Win7, from 8.3 KSS is same for all controllers (no more 'standard' vs. 'SR' edition for different size cabinets) but must have BoardPackage option, support for newer motherboards, needs 2Gb ram, may need never version of tech packages as well etc. also there are improvements in workvisual (multiselect for adding hardware, much better help file, ...)

Also machine data is generated by WV on 8.3 and you need the bigger 8 gig Kuka recovery Stick to make an image ...
8.3 has been completely rewritten due the fact windows 7 operates differently o and it was 2 years late to release lol

Aggh great.. Sounds like the upgrade path from 8.2 to 8.3 is going to be fun

Not an upgrade fresh install with new image

Everyone I talk to at KUKA says that 8.3 is wonderful, all sunshine, rainbows, and fluffy bunnies. Except that Force-Torque Control for 8.3 won't be released until later this year....
I'd be more annoyed, but I recall when the KRC1 was brand new. And the ABB IRC5. And the Kawasaki C-model controller. Any new controller seems to take years for the bugs to get squished.
