This is safety issue , why not consider safety devices? -
The native interface is limited. you could not call it in remote device. But if using remote interface, you also call it in the local host.
Besides, you have to consider how integrate your app GUI into the SmartHMI. -
If you have a python script that could poll variables from KRC4, will it works for your purpose ?

on the KRC2, you may chose the RS232 interface with Arduino

the fast way is open a OPT setup folder , you will find some kxr files, these will be install to the KRC4 controller C:\KRC\DATA , open them , you will find the way.

Low frequency could be generated by Timer programmed in Submit.
