not for public...
if you don't have software with your robot or discs are not in working order, contact your local Kuka
Thanks, I was hoping KUKA had a download server. The robot was bought used, and the install disks were not included.
I've asked local and Augsburg Kuka for the same reason, my robot came without disks.
They answered no copies of the install disks I can buy, Kuka does not provide them (media worth few euros for legal software!!!), they said they can come to me and install new software or I can buy new KSS. I don't even ask but I'm sure this would be a fortune. This is Kuka politics: „If you're not a factory with hundreds of robots, don't bother us, get lost, we have no time for you.”
Kuka Augsburg did not reply at all.
well if you are buying a used robot, condition is something to be taken into consideration. there is a price attached to anything, including installation discs. just tell seller that without discs, documentation or anything else, price has to goes down before agreeing to buy. if the price difference is significant, they will look harder to locate and replace missing items. getting used robot and asking Kuka for replacement discs with same software version should not be expensive (just guessing, you already have the license, you are only replacing media). but I can see how they would charge higher or full price for latest OS and KSS.

They told me it's impossible.
ouch...
KSS install CD (assuming this is a pre-KRC4 robot) should be copied onto the D: partition of the robot's hard drive. The Windows install, however, is a harder problem. If you have another KRC controller of similar vintage, you can probably clone the hard drive from one to the other. I've done that in the past successfully, although you do need an Archive of the robot you're rebuilding, or you'll have to fix a lot of hardware mismatches manually.
But, in general, buying a used robot without the install disks is a bad idea. The seller needs to either cough them up or drop the price, and the buyer needs to research just how much (and how expensive) service is available for this older robot before making the purchase.
