We are having a small problem with our XRC welding robot. We are using it with a Mitsubishi_PLC, two side turntable We manage to done our first weld but when we try to do the next step the table turns but the robot stays idle an won’t do anything, but if we do a hard reboot we are able to do one weld cycle and the problems start again the robot won’t move from the home position and neither the HMI or the pendant shown any error, everything stops and nothing happens. Do you a have any idea what is happening?

we must see your code to say if there is sth wrong

Is the green start lamp on the controller on and solid? Are there messages at the bottom of the programming pendant?
-
I think the code is ok, because I am able to run the robot after a hard reboot, and yes the green lamp is on and solid and there are no messages on the programing pendant
-
Put the robot in "step" mode. In this mode, the robot will only execute one line of code at a time. Press the start button and read the line of code over and over until you see what line of code is causing this problem. You are probably in an endless loop waiting for an input that the robot can't see because of the different scan times between the PLC and robot.

How do I put the robot on "step" mode?
Sorry but I new with robots. -
Press TOP MENU.
Use AREA key to move cursor up to CYCLE. Three circles enclosed by one circle. To left of SELECT.
Press SELECT.
Cursor to STEP.
Press SELECT. -
I tried but get a message "operation is prohibited by external device "
-
I f I reset the I/O perform one welding program and them is stuck again.
-
The message "operation prohibited by external device" has to do with one of two things. One you are in remote mode. Turn remote off and try again. If you PLC must see the robot in remote mode, you will have to edit the PLC program to make the robot go to step mode and out put the start command to make the robot step through the program. The other cause of this my be the settings. In management security under setup is "operating conditions". Under here you can permit or prohibit actions, start, servo on, mode change....
With your limited knowledge of a Motoman robot and this problem, you might be better off calling your local Motoman rep to come in and have a look at what is going on. -
