Hey all, this is my first posted thread where I wanted to get an idea of what I got myself into. Manager man wants me to program a Go Fa collaborative bot for a trade show but I have a short time line to learn how to do it. I've never programmed robot arms before, and know next to nothing about robot studio, or other resources. I've been messing with Robot Studio, but the tutorials I can find are really dated and don't go over anything that I think would be all that relevant besides super general path programming.
What resources are out there to help learn the ins and outs of these arms for as little to no cost/wait time as necessary. (I have like a week deadline), let me know if you have some favorites out there, or link other threads that have information you think would be helpful.
Also I think general discussion about these new arms would be cool. They seem to be kind of hard to implement thanks to the collaborative robot part of what they are. What are use cases you can think of that isn't just marketing but instead practical real world ideas?
ABB Go Fa, CRB15000 likes and dislikes/how bad did I mess up?

Can I use Wizard with a virtual robot with the free RobotStudio trial version?Yes, you can use Wizard with a virtual single-arm YuMi in RobotStudio.forums.robotstudio.comThe GoFa appears to be geared towards hand-teaching more than pathing in RS, although it seems you can do either.
The best way to learn is to simply start jogging the robot around, either virtually or in reality. If you have the real robot, it can be useful to make a backup of it, then use RS's "build from backup" capability to create a virtual clone of the real robot. Teaching points&paths is probably easiest on the pendant, but doing any complex programming is easier in RS. Which makes RS's ability to plug into the controller and edit program code really convenient.

There are some Robotstudio tutorials on YouTube and I think that you can find some on ABB's site for RS.

Hi, as someone who has used GoFa I can tell you you don't need RobotStudio, you can program your demo directly on the Flexpendant of the robot. Have you gone through the free online learning from ABB? You can find it here Online learnings | ABB Robotics - Training | ABB Robotics (Service | ABB Robotics) .
When it comes to application demo ideas, Youtube is a good place to go, I just did a quick search and came up with this GoFa pick and place demo

Good luck with your application!

Thank you, I haven't seen this just yet, but to others in the thread, I'll be sure to check some other resources out
