I have an old Kawasaki RS005L 6 axis robot from 2012 that I would like to resurrect. It has an E77 controller, but no teach pendant. I am struggling to find a list of compatible teach pendent models for it. The previous owner had 1 teach pendant between two robots - 50817-1457. Kawasaki tells me that 50817-0076L10 is the only compatible model, but it is $$$. I am hoping to find a second-hand pendant for this 2012 RS005 robot. Does anybody have a list of compatible pendants? or I am going to have to spend the $5000USD for a new one from Kawasaki?

AFAIK Several teach pendants are available from standard to arc welding all with different part numbers which also included the Lxx which is the length of harness in meters and dependent on application, you could source whether to have a handling or arc spec which was effectively just a different membrane button overlay.
They were effectively the same pendant connector and electrical signals as the video signals are produced directly from the CPU and not like the old C controllers where they were produced in the teach pendant directly.
So effectively the teach pendant on E controller is just a data entry terminal.
No definitive compatibility list was ever produced as you would always receive the specific spare parts list for that specific supplied system and would use that to source the correct spare parts including the teach pendant unit, separate harness and button membrane overlay.
I cannot be 100% sure on whether EU spec teach pendants differ for North America spec teach pendants except for possibly the fast check buttons may not have been included and possibly CE relevance.
The standard one was the initial release when E controllers were first released.
This was based on the previous D Controller pendant which was large and bulky.
The light weight pendant was later released as the default supplied one and is exactly as termed, small and very light and a significant improvement.
Initial release and light weight versions had the same connector and electrical signals (smaller and less cumbersome harness) and were 100% inter changeable as Kawasaki then started to supply light weight teach pendants as default as they phased out the original bulky teach pendants.
All teach pendants part no.s would include the length of the harness noted by the Lxx number where L is Length and the value related to meters.
Either teach pendant use the same connector and electrical signals as each other, so either would be compatible IMHO but again I cannot be 100% sure between EU spec and North America spec.
In fact just for smarts, you can also use D controller pendants on E controllers too.
The only difference is a couple of buttons are missing and the overlay (button membrane) is different.
These are the light weight versions for North America Spec and EU spec controllers.
E77 Parts list confirms the teach pendant part number as 50817-0076L10 (10 metre harness).
E70 Parts list confirms teach pendant part number as 50817-0077L10 (10 metre harness).
For the older bulky teach pendants, the part no. are variants of 50817-14xxLxx.
If you can pick up a D controller pendant on the cheap, then this may in fact do the job too.
50817-1352Lxx for North American spec and 50817-1354Lxx.
You may also come across 50187-12xxLxx variants too for the older D controllers.
In this case, places like Ebay could be your friend.
Hope this helps..........

Awesome response. thank you.
When I collected the robot and controller I rooted around and found a controller in a box. Together with a spare set of controller cables. From a 2017 order for the similar robot for one of their customers . So it is not the original one, but for the same robot, but unknown controller version. and not the model referred to in your post.
It is 50817-0066.
The plug is compatible.
Based on your email, I do t think there is a risk to plugging it in and seeing if it works?
Thanks

No risk at all, should work no problem...........
