Hello All,
I am working on a project that has a 4-axis gantry for box picking. This is the first time we are working with gantry systems and I was wondering if you guys could suggest some ready to use multi axis motion controllers. we have experience with FANUC,ABB,YASKAWA and KUKA industrial robots and need help with what are the important pieces we need to consider while looking at the motion controllers in terms of integration and programming. Gantry specs are as below:
(1) X Stage(s); Size SRE2; 27625mm Overall Travel; 30400mm Overall Length
(4) Y Stage(s); Size SEY2; 6015mm Overall Travel; 7280mm Overall Length
(4) Z Stage(s); Size SV2; 2100mm Overall Travel; 2760mm Overall Length
(4) C Stage(s); Size 500; +/-180° Rotation; Hollow Bore
(8) Gantry Legs; Size SRE2; 2814mm Overall Height;
VMax up to 2m/sec | AMax up to 2m/sec² | With AutoLube System
Payload: 150kg
Some question I would like to be answered are:
1. List of suggestions for recommended motion controllers
2. How would the programming look like? will it be similar to industial robots programming or more of a G-code level programming?
3. We will be using an Allen Bradely PLC - does Allen brandley offer any motion controller blocks?
4. Are there any motion controllers that also support inbuilt conveyor tracking similar to the industrial robot controllers?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
