KCP is frozen after start up ...

    I'm still working on getting my machine running. Specs are below. The machine starts up fine now ... the motherboard has been replaced and the ESC card has been replaced. Replacing the ESC Card seems to have solved the problem I was having with the External Safety Switch being tripped when I don't have one. Also, the Operation Mode is now properly displayed on the KCP.

    So now the problem is ... the KCP seems to be frozen. None of the buttons work. If I turn the operation mode switch from T1 to T2 the screen does not change ... still says T1. If I press the configure button to select the user group, nothing happens.

    I had this happen a few times before I replaced the ESC Card, but I could always fix it by restarting the machine. This does not seem to be working now.

    as with any complex system, problem could be software or hardware...

    replacing hardware is slow and expensive. also this is error prone if one is inexperienced or does not follow ESD guidelines. ESC board is not enclosed which makes it more sensitive than many other parts.

    restoring software can be tedious and slow - if installing from scratch. but restoring from known good backup is much simpler and faster. old HDDs tend to fail. also data corruption can be exacerbated by not maintained batteries. sometimes reboot can help but there is no silver bullet other than maintaining system per manufacturer recommendations. for example KUKA recommends new HDD from time to time (keep old as a backup).

    Hi for this issue, try and exchange the MFC card in the PC controller, you can leave DSE card but need to exchange bottom card MFC. Last week i had the same issue and exchanging the bottom MFC card resolved the error with buttons on the KCP.
