Hi,
I guess my major question is, has anyone successfully been able to select which program to execute using LabVIEW code?
I previously did a lot of work with a UR Robot and achieved what was needed. Now I am trying to duplicate the functionality for a Kuka robot. We have:
- Kuka KR6R900 with KRC5 micro controller
- KSS: 8.7.3 HF1
- EthernetKRL: V3.2.4
From the UR, we were able to:
- Select the program that should execute by program name. I believe this has to be done by mapping a PGNO to a program for Kuka using similar code to that in cell.src.
- Exchange very simple handshakes to allow synchronisation between an application running on a PC and the robot functionality.
- Send data at regular intervals from the robot regarding robot status, joint temperatures, robot operating mode, safety status etc. Whether we need it all is another question, but we have the ability.
To implement this for the Kuka, we were told by Kuka that ethernetKRL would be a good solution.
If I achieve '1.', then I can implement 2 quite easily I believe.
'3.' I consider later - baby steps.
And Yes, I have read the KST_Ethernet_KRL_32_en.pdf manual, and also KUKA KSS-8.3-Programming-Manual-for-SI.pdf but I must be missing something.
If anyone has some tips or examples regarding how to proceed, this would be gratefully received.
Thank You
