Hey guys! Hope you're having a great day! Recently we have been working on a project and have had to be exporting files to this robot and have noticed that it is painfully slow. Can we get some ideas for us to fix this situation, please! We have already tried replacing the FROM/SRAM module and that has had no effect on the problem. Also tested importing and exporting on our other robots and it is hasty. Let me know anyone's thoughts. Best regards.

How are you trying to move files?
-
we are using FTP to export and import our programs to and from the robot.
-
Are you sending .TP files, or the ASCII .LS versions?
-
We are sending the .TP files but then it gets converted to .LS once on the robot.
-
How long is it taking on the slow machine and how long does it take on the fast machines?
-
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner but on the slow machine it takes roughly 20-30 minutes with how much we are exporting and importing. On the faster robots, it takes about 5 minutes.
-
What is the value of $IDL_CPU_PCT on the slow robot? What is it on one of your normal robots? It can be found under SYSTEM > Variables
What are you using to execute your FTP transfers? Is it just from a command line, or is it a program like FileZilla?
However you are doing it, make sure to only transfer one file at a time. FANUC's don't like to be rushed, and if you try to rush them, they will slow down.

Wow that is slow. I can generally do a complete backup over FTP in 2 minutes.
Have you tried FTP locally with your PC plugged directly into the robot to see how fast that is? Just want to rule out a slow network issue.
