We have an arcmate 120ib and the connector on J3 is broken. we have a parts robot i can pull the cable kit from to swap but to be perfectly honest I'd rather not go through the hassle if i don't need to. Is there any way I can just swap over the connector for j3? All the rest of the robot is fine and it feels like a waste to have to toss out a whole cable kit because of one broken connector.
Do I have to change the whole cable kit?

Hi EPeters1,
do you mean the Connector EE ? if yes.. just change the Plug.. but i dont know what exactly is broken.. so.. take a look and decide. 👍

the elbow connector to the pulse coder on j3

oh damn,
you could repair that cable with the new plug..

so i would have to cut the end off and splice the wires together individually? Or is there an easier way?
-
no there is no easier way.

ok well the damaged one is no good to us anyway, ill cut the connector off and see if my skills are up to the task, otherwise we just replace the kit as usual. Thanks

Yest, there's a whole kit for encoder cables (all axes together), so if cutting and connecting the new connector won't finish with the success you need to change the whole set.

those wires are way too thin for my skills and tools at the moment. Guess we do things the long way. At least I know its my only option now. Thanks.
