    Hi,

Does anyone know how to get speed command to work with weldcom 2.0 When using ASF?

At the moment ASF seams to overwrite speed.

    Arcon ASF(1) //speed in there is 20

    speed V=5

MovL // speed is still 20

    MovL v=5 // Speed is 5

Is this happening to anyone else or just me?

The welding speed is determined by one of the following:

    • Welding speed specified by play speed of the move instruction

    • Welding speed specified by the ARCON instruction or arc start condition file

When the move instruction does not specify a speed, Welding is performed at the ARCON instruction or arc start condition file speed.

When the move instruction and ARCON instruction specify different speeds

Priority is given to one according to the parameter values described below. To switch the priorities, change the parameter setting.

There are a parameter for setting of priority,

    AxP005

If it set 0, Move instruction speed is priority

If set 1, ARCON instruction speed is priority

    The default set 0.

With this explain at the manual, you couldn't use speed instruction and if you need different speed you must set in tag of MOV instruction.

Would be nice to be able to set asf speed to be a variable.

You can set the speed to a variable using the SPEED command.

    ie. SPEED V=I000

Then remove the speeds from the MOVL where you want to use that speed.

I don't think you can set the speed to a variable in an ASF. Not even with Weldcom 2.0.
