Is there a way to cycle robot power through the PLC? I know the power can be cycled through the teach pendant. Is there something I can set up like a digital I/O triggering something in the system variables of the robot? Maybe a BG program that constantly checks for that?

Edit - This is for R30ib controller

    What controller model?

There is no known way to do this via software automatically, but you can wire a relay to the Ext Off terminal on the estop board. I know this is available on R30ib and R30ib+.

Sorry forgot to mention. This is for R30ib. Ok - so no way to trigger programatically. I will look into that option

As HawkME said, maybe will be easier to install contactor and control this contactor from PLC.

What will prevent shutting it off while in motion or maybe critical moments in the program?

Worse yet, an unwanted power cycle during an image restore bricking the robot.
