    Hey guys,

I work with 4 R30iB/R2000 robots and I am auditing our spare parts list. I have spare motors, fuses, TP+cable, and motor+controller fans (we had one break). I was given a list of possible parts but I wanted to get some input as to what you think is necessary/important and most prone to failure. Obviously getting everything is the way to go but I'm not sure how much $$ approval I will get. For reference, our systems are 4 years old and run in a an environment with not much dust and no oil.

    PCB Main Board

    CPU card DRAM

    Servo Card

    FROM/SRAM

    Amplifier 6Ax control board

    Servo amp pcb

    back plane 2 slot

    E-stop unit

    power supply unit

    power pcb

    pcb Estop

I was hoping anyone with experience can give their feedback as to which parts are more prone to going out (if any), or which you had go out more frequently?

  • Cycle Power through PLC

Sorry forgot to mention. This is for R30ib. Ok - so no way to trigger programatically. I will look into that option

Is there a way to cycle robot power through the PLC? I know the power can be cycled through the teach pendant. Is there something I can set up like a digital I/O triggering something in the system variables of the robot? Maybe a BG program that constantly checks for that?

Edit - This is for R30ib controller

  • integer from PLC to Robot

    Hello all,

I have an Allen Bradley PLC setup with an R30ib controller. The system is able to pass digital I/O from/to the robot and PLC but I am stuck with wanting to pass an integer value from the PLC to the Robot.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction if you've dealt with this before?

    Thank you!

Does anyone know what(assuming there is one) the system variable is that shoes either the mode of operation (Auto,T1) or the status of the TP (ON/OFF)?

I can't seem to find this anywhere but do you guys know which system variable sets the time required for the servo motors to break when the "break on hold" option is enabled?

  • Greasing the Balancer

    Hello All,

I have a R2000ib robot and per the 1 year PM I have to grease the balancer. I have the grease types and the amount from the manual however these isn't any mention of where the grease is supposed to come out from. Am I only supposed to pump the grease inside or is there some outlet that I can't find. Any help is appreciated!

    thank you

  • R30iB image backup

    Thank you!

I just checked and my SRAM is 2MB which I'm guessing is on the lower end.

My System memory pool shows that I have 1.9KB free out of 8690KB. Is this a normal amount? Seems like I would want to keep more as free.

  • R30iB image backup

    Hello all,

I have four R30iB controllers that I recently did an image backup on for the first time. The process was smooth and on all four robots I received the "image backup successful" message at the end of the process.

Now that I look at the image files created, I notice that I have FROM files from FROM00 to FROM62 and then SRAM00 and SRAM01. From my research it seems as though there should be an SRAM02 as well? Am I missing a file or is the amount of image files dependent on the amount of memory in the controller?

    Thanks

Is there any way that I can round register values up and/or down to the nearest integer through a TP program? Using R30ib controller.

    Thank you

I'll do both image backup and the all of the above. I know that as long as I keep the power on, I won't lose anything but just in case there is a power outage or something while I'm changing the batteries.

    Hello all,

I'm in the process of changing the backup batteries on my fanuc robot. Before I do that, I want to take a backup that could restore all the information if lost. I know I can take a backup of all the TPP programs and what not but what kind of backup can I take that would store all the positions so that if something happens during the battery swap process, I wouldn't have to re-master the robot?

    Thanks in advance!
