Hi Everyone,
I am looking for an expert advice regarding ABB Laser Cutting Robot process.We are moving some fixture for LASER cell in an automotive plant.I have no prior practical experience with any LASER Cutting activity.I have read the Cutting PowerPack manual and tried to get some basic fundamentals about LASER parameters.But I have few questions to clear up my thoughts.
So,when I start teaching the new points for a new part,can anyone tell me what distance I have to maintain between LASER head and the part during teaching a new points?
Also any other general advice regarding Robotic LASER Cutting would be greatly appreciated.

Is your laser attached to the robot, or does the robot move the part in front of a fixed laser? Distance between part and laser will probably depend on how TCP is taught.

Depends on the focal point, desired kerf characteristics, the material, etc. The laser manufacturer may offer teaching tips/nozzles that would be very beneficial.
Not familiar the Cutting PowerPac/software but you may be able to set a distance offset there once it's known. -
The laser is mounted on the robot and the part is turning on a trunnion.

Mostly we maintain 0.5 mm to 2 mm between Laser head tip and the parts.
Each material and thickness have different parameter.You can check the attaching file for understanding.
I have some experience of robot laser cutting and welding.

If you need more specific parameter. Just tell me what kind material and thickness is. What kind laser (fiber or co 2) and the power limit is?
