Hello,
I want to know - how can I limit the robots workspace? The range of the robot is too large and I would like to limit it so that it doesn't hit the wall on its right side, and that it can't hit the table on which it is located. I know, that I can set limits for each joint, but it is not a solution. Is there any other way to do it?

Does your Robot have DCS?

couldn't you just use axis limits ?

Easiest solution is Space function

Easiest solution is Space function
I second this.
DCS is a paid option but Space Function, to my knowledge, is rather standard.
The problem with Space Function is that you can still stupify the robot into hitting something if you turn the TCP away from the forbidden space, but even that can be tweaked to perfection. -

You are talking like the robot has a mind on its own
When you say " it doesn't hit the wall on its right side", what do you mean by that ? That the robot for no reason is going to move and hit the wall. I'm not joking. You programmed a particular path,, the robot will do that path for ever. The human (operator, programmer, manager) is the one that should be educated not to crash the wall.
If I read you description of the cell I'm imagining a 200 kg robot working in an area 1 meter by 1 meter and the wall is like 2 meters away AND the path doesnt even go close to the wall.I dont even know if you have a PLC connected. You could have a good defense against crashes adding sensors on the arm (like the good old days) or using expensive software to avoid human error.
There's two issues
1) robot in auto, then triple check the path. That's what robots are for, to repeat accurately
2) robot in manual moved by human. well , fix the humans -
The robot is placed in class. It is situated between two stations with PLCs (I wrote about wall to make it simple to imagine because the limits in this case are similar) The only communication between robot and PLC is by using few physical I/O.
The robot won't be used by qualified worker but by students. I want to set some limits, just for being sure, that they won't hit something using robot in jog mode.
What is DCS, and how can I use it?
I found in summary.dg:
DCS:V2.1.11
DCSU - dual check safety UIF
FIX DCS COUNT3 ALARM U528
DCS INVALID ZONE U577
DCS TOOL FRAME FIX U579
