Hi there,
We were asked by our IT department to update Windows 7 on the Kuka PC (KPC) of our KRC4 controller with security patches.
Windows Version: Windows Embedded Standard
Software version: V8.3.23 HF1
See below for more software details.
As no one in our organization has experience with updating Windows on the KPC, I just wanted to double check:
- Would you recommend updating Windows on the KPC? Or is it a bad idea, especially as further updates might be requested in the future.
- Would a Windows 7 update affect SafeOperation / ProfiSafe / Safety Configuration of the robot?
- Are there any pitfalls we should be aware of?
Thanks for your feedback
Sven
P.S.: We would backup the computer first (KRC Diag or HDD image).
