How can I make an archive of the project on a folder on the controller (in spite of on connected USB stick) for KRC4?
Next to that, how can I make archive of the project in the controller, in such a way that I could place it back with the restore function on the KCP,
KRC 4 archive on folder of controller

you can configure the path for the backup using KRCconfigurator.exe
its located in C:\KRC\UTIL\KRCCONFIGURATOR GoTo Tab ArchieveManager and change the path for USB KCP or USB Cabinet to another Drive for ex. "D:\Robot_Backup\".
if you are saving the archive as per above method than you can also restore the backup from same folder from KCP. I have never tried the restore function until now but I have tried to save the backup in another drive using above method.

Tampering with the USB-Cabinet and USB-Pendant options is probably unwise. The "Network" option is available to abuse, however. I generally do this on most of my KRCs -- I create a D:\Backups directory, then redirect "Network" backups to that directory.
As long as you're not using any of the "renaming" options, like the History option, Restore should work from whatever location you set up, as long as you select the same path. Trying to Archive to D:\ and then restoring from USB-Cabinet obviously will not work. The Restore function will work with whatever file has the correct filename located in whichever location you choose to restore from. So if you Archive to D:\, then try to Restore from USB-Cabinet, and happen to have a USB drive plugged into the cabinet that has an appropriately-named Archive file on it, you could end up restoring something you don't expect. So managing your Archive files carefully is important.
If you try to restore an Archive from another robot, you should get a warning message, but I've often seen people click past those without reading them, and then wonder why their robot quits working. So personally I like to use the %ROBNAME% option when setting up the Archive file name in KRCConfigurator -- it also helps when you're carrying a USB drive down an entire line of robots, making Archives of all of them.

backup manager can do up to 50 backups and save it locally - no tweaks needed.
