How is everyone doing?
I am a complete newbie in automation and controls. We had an integrator who setup a Fanuc robot to attend to an EDM with a custom built carousel. He was a good guy, but constantly late on projects, so my boss had to let him go. I was told to make the cell work. I have a little experience in PLC logic and a mechanical engineering degree with no knowlege of basic controls concepts/terminology. So pretty much, i have my work cut out for me (how hard can it be )
What we have right now:
We have an S7-1500 PLC controlling the carousel
Automation Direct PLC communicating with a Fanuc Robot M-710iC/50 with an R-30iB controller
HMI (Automation Direct).
Modbus communication between the 2 PLCs
I have programs to load/unload the carousel and the EDM. I can create and modify basic functions of the robot programs (creating movepoints, activating/checking i/o, some flow control)
Right now, I am trying to call programs using the PLC. I would like to use EtherNet IP (from my limited research this seems like the easiest route). We have the EtherNet adapter (see screenshot). How do I call a specific robot program I made from the PLC?
