Hi all,
I am new to this forum, but have spent many hours lurking here trying to figure out how to configure our new KUKA KRC4 with KSS 8.3.xxx (not sure off the top of my head).
The issue I am trying to solve is as follows:
1) Certain x,y,z,a,b,c locations of the TCP are saved via DAT files.
2) We use an external algorithm/software to determine how the robot should act based on these points.
3) I am trying to find a way to programmatically send these positions to an external computer (where the algorithm is located). These "sent over" data points are then read in by the external computer and used in our algorithm.
4) So my question is... what is the best way to do this?
Our KUKA robot comes with the KRC4 EthernetIP, though I am very new to the realm of Ethernet communication so I would like to avoid it if possible at the moment.
I recently discovered the ability of the KUKA robot to write to a ".txt" file using CWRITE. However, my next problem would be transferring this ".txt" file over to our external computer. Is this method (writing to ".txt" file and somehow accessing it via remote computer) do-able with the KUKA software/file structure? Can I connect to the KUKA local hard-drive (where the ".txt" file would be stored) via USB or ethernet, and then copy it to the external computer?
I apologize if I was unclear on my current problem, but am very willing to describe it in more detail if necessary.
Thank you!
