No i have only the one on the robot - RDW v.1.30
Btw .. can i use a RDW board from non safeRobot?
I mean the standard board from a non safe Robot!
See attachments. Find in my newest safe-operation manual that i have.
I think, it should work also with your old version of the ESC-Tech-Board together with V5.6. But not 100%.
I have here this one - from an older robot, will it do the job?
that is the right one... it tells on the label that this is RDW2
Be careful when installing it in the SafeRDC-Box. The board needs contact on the backside on the right places with the box for grounding!!!
Contact with the box on wrong places destroys the board.
I will use its own outer box - it is available as well. There is a difference in the internal socket for X30 so i need to use the plug as well to replace the current one
Thank you so much for the help!
The box and RDW installed, now i need to do the jumpering on X23.
Question to sjx - what kind of connection are the red circled ones?
circled items are NOT connections, they are indicators telling that all of those wires are blue AWG20.
maybe this helps:
Everything done, the errors are cleared now, but one still stays there. Any idea where to look?
There is another message whe i am trying to clear the error - Quit Local Protective Stop (QE) 3024 is the error number.
ok... just re-did the jumpering - this time directly on X23.
The only message i have now is: The Safety sircuit for drives not ready
Where to look now?
as the message suggests you should check - safety circuit.
i would begin check all connections on X11 jumper plug, inspect X11 on cabinet (damaged contacts?).
ESC must be powered too and then do reset of the ESC board by pressing blue microswitch in the lower right corner or - reboot cabinet (slower). i have seen problem a while ago where someone took center jumper from terminal strip on the left side of the cabinet and ESC board did not have second DC common (two V+ but only one DC common). You are trying to resurrect something that you were told that it worked. now you need to troubleshoot and this requires some skill like being able to interpret schematic and use multimeter.(this is why you get schematic with controller)
I know it is a mess.. really hope to solve it!
Just did a cold start+reset the ESC board and there are no errors now... but the robot can't move - the I is red
If this was SafeOperation robot your RDW box is twice as big as normal one (some pics of your RDC will help)
To make it work you need a combination of KSS and Safe Operation software. Does not matter if you will use Safe OP or not. You need a software installed to make the safe RDC board talk correctly to the KRC2.
There is no easy way of retrofitting this robot and controller to be a non Safe Operation robot.
Changing the RDC board to regular one will not work. There is way more to it.
As i don't have the software i changed the RDW to a normal one and jumpered X23. All the errors gone now. But the robot is not releasing the brakes when i try to move it. Will re do the X11 jumering as well
Not releasing the brakes or your drives or not coming on?
Does the "I" on teach pendant goes green ? Do you hear main contactor going on?
The I stays red, no contactor heard..
On safe operation KRC2s drives on circuit has two main contactors.
One is directly on Power Module (KPS600) the other somewhere on a left side inside cabinet.
Additional wires are running to KPS to enable that functionality.
I believe that you will need to jumper that.
K1 is main contact that enables drives power.
K1.1 on a left side is secondary one (safety -> dual circuit)
G1/X123 on a KPS has a cable running to K1.1.
Not sure what makes a KPS using it or not but a regular KRC2s don't have K1.1.
If you have a regular KRC2 you can compare the wiring.
Do you have tried switching in Auto-Mode and Motors on for testing?
ESC-Diagnostics now everything ok?
Yes, tried the Auto mode, same result.
On the ESC diagnostics all seems fine, will post the screen tomorrow.
on your X11 connector on a photo in a post Long times ago has no bridges on 7-8 and 25 -26.
Can exactly be your Problem. nuued for death handle works
kr16_2: the last KRC2ed05 Standard models had also 2 power connectors.
