So I'm teaching myself how to use spline motions and, after reading the manual, I've got a few questions:
I understand SPTP, SLIN, and SCIRC, but what exactly is SPL? As far as I can tell, SPL is only ever used inside spline blocks. Is SPL basically just an SPTP that doesn't pay attention to orientation or status/turn?
Since spline motion types can be used outside of a spline block, what is the benefit of using the spline block? I assume it is because only a spline block will create the curved spline path and allow the use of the TIME_BLOCK and CONST_VEL options?
Given the motion-control advantages that splines offer, is there any reason that I should not just make all motions spline type motions? They certainly seem to be a superior motion type in just about every way.
