does anybody have a list of beckhoff devices that can work with kuka?
i want to connect EL-5101 to kuka krc 4 or EL-4701
i tried to ask kuka and the answer that i got from them : "Wouldn’t hurt to just download the DTM from Beckhoff site and give it a try."
it seems that even they don't know what working with thier devices
what beckhoff devices can work with kuka krc4?

I agree, having compiled list of devices that are proven to work would be nice.
on the other hand, you did not provide enough of info. what KRC4 you have there? what KSS?
KRC4 is new and there is a lot of development. newer KSS are more likely to support more devices.
Maybe forum users can chime in and confirm what was tested.
For example I used few of them:EK1100
EL1809
EL2809
EL2024
EL6731
EL6731-0010
EL6752
EL6752-0010
EL91xxetc
since Beckhoff allows you download all DTMs in one file, I just added EL5xxx to my WoV and everything looks fine but I don't have the module to try it out. If you have it, why don't you try it out?

Yeah it seems that if it won't load it isn't supported(sorry if that is obvious). Seems like many things are now supported...things like ethercat bridges work, also 2 port ethercat switch works. Hopefully soon Beckhoff will release a PoEcat switch, and hopefully kuka will support it. Starting to see PoEcat devices pop up, and its a lot of extra wiring to make them work without PoE
Things that are not:
Serial gateways
ethernet gateways -
Dear Panic Mode,
i was at beckhoff local office, and took a beckhoff motor with EL4701.
all seems to work, i imported the DTM , and got it's values.
then in return i linked input output, and i was more then happy.
until i deployed it to the robot and got error.
the next step was this ->
since i got init error, and beckhoff told me that i need to init the motor stepper device.
i learned from that that even if i will import a device into the robot, it will not 100% will work.i using krc4 mss 8.3.x with wov 3.1.x that was born 6 months ago to two proud clients.
i install el1809, el2809, analog output and pwm, all are working and communicating with the robot.i think we need to open a thread that every one will write which models are working for him. and make a list.
then we can sell it to kuka for a kuka sim license -
Hmm I assume you mean EL7041....thats disturbing, I have one on my desk I am planning to integrate soon(having made the same assumption, which is that setting it up in WoV meant it was good to go). If I get a chance I will try it on my end; even since the WAGO days I have noticed some weird behaviors with fieldbus. For example with a WAGO stepper driver, the terminal must go first on the bus(before digital or analog IO), even though you won't find that anywhere in any manual(nor did anyone I ever spoke to at WAGO know this).
Of course it will be challenging to fix since I assume the init error doesn't give any other detail. Have you tried changing the process image settings in WoV? I remember specifically with that terminal, that there are several "modes". Formats for the position mode, etc. You can change this in the "settings" page, I think you have to uncheck one of the boxes and then the dropdown lets you select the image you want; the manual for the terminal describes them. Maybe Kuka only supports one type of positioning mode? Wild guess, don't quote me on it...

yep, it was EL7041, i tried to check some of the boxes, with no success, then, with the help of beckhoff, i choose the option without the encoder, thought that is the problem, again with no success, still got init error.
if you will be able to install it, i will be more then happy to learn how, i don't think that with my experience level today i can tell if it's working or not, most likely i didn't do something correct -
can you show screenshot of the message?

i returned already the device, but as far as i remmber it's init error.
i asked the beckhoff enginner and they told me that there are init string that the scx sending.
in kuka i can't sent it' as far as i know -
I haven't had time to test this, but will try to in the next week or so.

Just an update on this, I did successfully deploy a project including an EL7041 today(and plugged it into the bus) with no errors.
So the problem must be something else(I am currently fighting with an EL3312 that will not deploy however!)

how did you do it???
i got init error all the time.if you can explain with screen shots, it will be great
