i have seen few but none are in medical field. the number after KR indicates rated payload of the robot so KR240 is designed to move 240kg load around. industrial robots are often used in medical field simply because of (comparatively) low cost.

Maybe try KUKA KR2240_2 or KUKA KR 240-2 Series 2000 as Google search phrases These robots are out-dated but popular. -
cyber knife, (pendant is on the wall).
as for differences, well, it is painted white

As far as I know, the differences between the CyberKnife and the normal KR240 are almost all cosmetic. More plastic covers, smoother polish, painted white. I believe that the CK has also undergone Absolute Accuracy factory calibration.

They are also equipped with the HA (high accuracy) head / wrist units.

Maybe this is a little off the subject... ...but what software/hardware do they add to the Cyberknife robots so they are safe to use right next to people? Without crashing into the patient?

I've never worked on a CK, but I would assume they either use hard stops, or the SafeOperation tech package. Quite possibly both.

It's a specially developed software package, similar to the package used on the Rob Coaster
